Researcher Access Workflow

Researchers follow a parallel, permission-based workflow:

  1. Create Verified Research Profile Institutions, research teams, and biotech companies create verified researcher accounts through a Know Your Institution (KYI) process.

  2. Submit Data Request Proposal They create a proposal outlining:

  • Study purpose

  • Data requirements

  • Token budget

  • Duration of access

  1. Matching Engine & User Discovery The DeMedic matching engine identifies users who meet the dataset requirements and whose permission settings allow such a request. No raw data is exposed until approval.

  2. Patient Approval & Smart Contract Trigger If manual approval is required (depending on the user’s preferences), users are notified and can choose to accept or decline the request. Upon approval, the smart contract:

  • Grants limited-time access to the specified dataset

  • Logs the transaction on-chain

  • Transfers $DMEDI rewards to the patient
